When combined with chemotherapy, topically applied synthetic vitamin D (calcipotriol) dramatically reduced pre-cancerous skin lesions (actinic keratosis).  Vitamin D cream is often used for the treatment of psoriasis.   [Daily Mail UK Nov 21, 2016; Journal Clinical Investigation Nov 2016]  The natural form of vitamin D (D3) probably works just as well, but physicians may tend to use the most expensive treatments that are only available through their offices.
