The thyroid cancer over-diagnosis/over-treatment epidemic continues

At least a half million patients, mostly women, have their thyroid glands surgically removed in high-income countries from 1987 to 2007.   Small thyroid nodules that don’t pose a mortal risk are the lesions that are in question.  [Medscape Aug 18, 2016]
