Testosterone shots for men do not provide consistent health benefits and may even pose threats to health

Often posed as an anti-aging pill or sorts, men looking for that youthful sex drive they once had often opt for testosterone injections.  However a review of 156 published studies from 1950-2016 did not reveal positive health benefits for testosterone.  [Drug Watch; Daily Hornet; PLoS One]  However, low-dose testosterone for menopausal women to restore sex drive is thought to be beneficial. [BBC News]  Of interest, testosterone driven males appear to be better navigators than females.  There is some evidence men read maps or seek better routes to a destination than females (but don’t ask for directions when lost).
