Red meat increases mortality

Red meat provides highly absorbable iron.  It is good for growing children, pregnant women, menstruating females.  However, after full growth in males and cessation of menstruation in females (early hysterectomy or menopause) red meat consumption can increase mortality risk.  [American Journal Clinical Nutrition Aug 24, 2016]
