Pap smears decline for women with hysterectomy

Pap smears to detect abnormal cells in the cervix declined from 72.2% in the year 2000 to 53.3% in 2013 among women who had undergone a prior hysterectomy.  This overt example of unnecessary care goes unexplained. [American Journal Public Health Nov 2016]
