Ophthalmologists take note: maintain vision at 20/40 or better to maintain quality of life of macular degeneration patients.

Vision at 20/40 or worse on the letter chart is not likely to affect quality of life in individuals with wet-form macular degeneration.  Maintenance of 20/20 to 20/40 vision (sufficient to pass a driver’s license exam) is of great importance in maintaining the quality of life of these patients.
