High-dose vitamin B1 injections reverse Parkinson’s symptoms

The patients all had normal vitamin B1 blood levels.  Most were in their 70s and had Parkinson’s disease for ~5 years.  The injection of 100 milligrams of vitamin B1 twice a week reversed symptoms of this dastardly disease.  Some patients with a mild type of the disease experienced complete clinical recovery.  In fact, vitamin B1 (thiamin) therapy appears to be superior to levodopa (dopamine) therapy.  This striking report should have made worldwide headlines.  [Neural Regeneration Research March 2016]

Thiamine therapy is also being assessed in the treatment of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). [Journal Neurology Neurosurgical Psychiatry Oct 2015]
