High blood pressure increases risk for cloudy cataracts; magnesium is antidote

High blood pressure is a recognized cause of cataracts (cloudiness of the focusing lens of the eye).  Magnesium taurate prevented cataracts among laboratory mice who had chemically-induced hypertension.  [Biomedical Pharmacotherapy Oct 8, 2016]  Magnesium (200-400 mg) may be advised for individuals with high blood pressure.
