Does a broccoli compound prevent macular degeneration?

Researchers report that broccoli concentrate, ten fold more potency than provided by a standard broccoli extract known as indole-3-carbinol, which is commonly lauded for its anti-cancer properties, can activate the aryl hydrocarbon receptor protein and detoxify retinal tissues at the back of the eyes. The super-concentrated broccoli extract would protect the retina from solar light damage. [Science Daily July 6, 2016] But that souped-up broccoli is not even available commercially. If interested, you might look into resveratrol, the red wine molecule, which has been found to do the same thing at very low concentrations. [Molecular Pharmacology 1999]
