Acetaminophen (Tylenol) ineffective for chronic pain

Consumers don’t question whether acetaminophen is helpful for pain.  It is considered a trusted stand-by remedy for pain (50 year history).  In the UK consumers use 70 acetaminophen tablets per year.  Yet it is not shown to be much more effective than an inactive placebo pill.  [Daily Mail UK Oct 25, 2016]

Scientific reviews show acetaminophen is ineffective for low back pain or headache.
