$15 billion rheumatoid arthritis drug could be replaced by probiotics?

Humira (adalimumab) set to become the world’s first $15 billion drug, is prescribed for symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.  [Forbes.com] However, gut bacteria have now been identified as the source of inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis.  [International Journal Molecular Sciences March 2016]  Humira induces short-term changes in gut bacteria, which parallel symptom relief.  [Journal Crohn’s Colitis Oct 2015]  Probiotics that favorably alter gut bacteria have been shown to be effective against rheumatoid arthritis at far less cost than Humira.
